We see ongoing professional development as the cornerstone of our organization’s success. With this understanding, we invest substantial resources in providing professional courses and training for all Terem staff. These courses are designed to ensure that each team member continues to develop, learn, and deepen their knowledge in areas relevant to emergency medicine, to provide the best and most professional medical services to our patients.
Professional Training in Community Emergency Medicine (TUCS)
This course addresses the most common medical issues encountered by Terem staff at emergency medical centers. The course is led by Dr. David Zlotnick, Terem’s Medical Director, and Dr. Ze’ev Wimpfheimer, Medical Director of the Terem Beit Shemesh, among others. It includes lectures and workshops on chest pain, fractures, abdominal pain, wound care, fever, casting, and much more. This course is a prerequisite for all new doctors at Terem.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
All of our medical staff have completed the ACLS course and undergo refresher courses every two years. While most standards require a four-hour refresher, we mandate an enhanced eight-hour course.
The course includes lectures and workshops on basic and advanced resuscitation, arrhythmias, airway management, cardiovascular emergencies, and AHA medical protocols.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
The course includes lectures and workshops on basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation, arrhythmias, airway, venous access and medical protocols according to AHA.
Urgent Medical Support (UMS)
The course is a prerequisite for all Paramedical staff. It covers all aspects of nursing at Terem, including triage, IVs, injections, dosage calculations, dressings, lab procedures, and more.
X-Ray and Casting Course
This is an internal course for experienced Paramedical staff at Terem, allowing them to order X-rays before the doctor’s examination, aiming to save patients time and unnecessary hassle. Additionally, the course covers practical content, including applying plaster casts to limbs, enabling the Paramedical staff to expand their knowledge and assist doctors in their work.
Lightweight Casting Course – This is an advanced internal course for experienced Paramedical staff at Terem, building on previous training in plaster casting. The course trains staff to work with lightweight casts, which are an improved option for treating fractures and injuries, enhancing patients’ quality of life. Upon completion of the training, staff members become knowledge centers about casting and lightweight casts.
Clinical Field for Nurses
In collaboration with the Tal Institute and Sha’are Zedek Hospital, we provide a training site for nursing students from these institutions, equipping them with the tools to handle professional challenges in emergency medicine.
Clinical Field for Paramedics
In collaboration with Ben-Gurion University, third-year emergency medicine students undergo a week or more of practical training at various Terem clinics. The students experience Terem’s unique working methods, and many choose to join the network upon graduation.
